DAY 1: Arrive at Dibrugarh and Transfer to Ziro (232 Kms, 6hrs)
On arrival at Dibrugarh airport, our representative will meet you. Then we start for Ziro. Upon arrival check in to the resort. In the evening feel free for personal activities. Dinner & overnight stay at Ziro.
DAY 2: ZIRO LOCAL SIGHTSEEING
Ziro is a small town of Arunachal Pradesh at an elevation of nearly 5754 feet and is one of the most famous hill stations in the state – It comprises the original Ziro village and the new Zero town (Hapoli). The distance between these two places is 05 kilometers. There is the well known Talle Sanctuary. It is well known for the Apatani Tribe, which is found in this region. Also known as the land of Apatanis. Also famous for the conservation and Paddy – cum – Fish culture which is unique amongst the Arunachal tribes. On the way explore Nishi Tribal Villages. Check in Hotel. Evening free to stroll around the market area .Visit Hong village – one of the largest tribal villages in Asia . Later visit other ethnic villages. Explore the tribal villages inhabited by Apatani tribal people – Apatani, like other tribes of the state also believe in the Sun and the Moon as gods and have a traditional altar in their home made up of bamboo and cane .
The Main inhabitant of Ziro : The uniqueness of the Apatani tribe is prominently featured through tattooing on women’s faces and their nose plugs. Five small rivulets namely Subansiri, Nishi, Apatani, Dafala and Miri flow nearby and few peaks also; one is the Salin peak on the old Apatani trade route to North Lakhimpur. KilePakho, one of the highest mountain ridges, is just 7 kilometers from Ziro and is rich in biological diversity with flora and fauna. There is a handicraft centre. DAY 3: Transfer from Ziro to Daporijo in Arunachal Pradesh
Early morning breakfast. Next drive to Daporijo is approximately 180 kilometers and a drive of 6 ½ hours to 7 hours. On the way visit Tagin villages. Tagins and Hill Miris are the major tribes of this area. Daporijo is a town in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh situated at an elevation of 600 meters- Daporijo is headquarters of Upper Subansiri District, which is home land of four ethnic groups i.e. Galo, Tagin, Hillmiri and Nah tribes . And of different belief backgrounds viz. Christianity, DonyiPoloism and Animism . Another attraction is Daporijo town and is just 13 kilometers away from Daporijo towards Basar- Likabali road known for Galo and Tagin ethnic peoples – Evening free to stroll around the market area. DAY 04: Transfer from Daporijo to Aalo in Arunachal Pradesh
Early morning breakfast – Next drive to Aalo – It is approximately 165 Kilometers and is nearly 06 hours drive – Land of Adi & Adi Galloning People – Aalo is a town and headquarter of the West Siang district of the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh – Mopin is the main festival starts from 5 April to 6 April, people celebrate Mopin for rich crop cultivation and to be blessed by nature. The Yomgo River Festival, held every year during peak tourist season, and lasting 3–4 days, is celebrated from 11 January to 15 January – This festival is celebrated with a view to promote tourism, indigenous culture and tradition, handloom & handicrafts and showcase its rich cultural heritage – Evening free to stroll around the market area – Overnight stay at Aalo.
DAY 05: Aalo Excursion & Activities
Full day at Along exploring Adi villages. It is situated near Assam’s border. The valley is picturesque and surrounded by mountains with rivers flowing through them. The place has various attractions like Kane Wildlife Sanctuary, which is situated here, houses wild species such as elephants and deer. The Hanging Bridge on River Siang is made of cane and bamboo – One would go river rafting and trekking if you are keen to have some activity to challenge your physical ability. Evening free to stroll around the market area. Overnight stay at Aalo.
DAY 06: Along to Mechuka 183 kms; 7.5 hours
Brace yourself for a long drive through verdant valleys. All through your drive you keep seeing sparsely populated villages dotted in the midst of lush green mountains. By evening reach the fabled Mechuka valley where you unwind in the warmth of your host family. Overnight stay at a Homestay in Mechuka.
DAY 07: Mechuka sightseeing
After breakfast head out for a walk to Dorjeeling village learning about the culture and lifestyle of the Memba tribe. Traversing through the rice, maize and millet fields will give you a good idea about their agricultural practices. Later in the day climb up to the SamtenYongcha Gompa built sometime in the 15th century. We will get stupendous views of Mechuka from this Gompa perched on top of a hill. Overnight stay at a Homestay in Mechuka.
DAY 08: Mechuka sightseeing
Today you will go for a drive towards the China border, a scenic road passing through verdant forest, where you can take a leisurely walk enjoying the nature and tranquility of the place. On the way back visit a small Gurudwara which is believed to have been blessed by Guru Nanak . In the second half visit the village of Lhalum to learn about some mythological beliefs of the Memba tribe. Overnight at a Homestay in Mechuka.
DAY 09: Mechuka to Pasighat 210 kms; 8.5 hours
Commence your return journey to Pasighat . Pasighat is one of the oldest towns of Arunachal Pradesh and the homeland of the Adi tribe. Set on the bank of river Siang is surrounded by snow-covered peaks and rocky mountains. It supports a wild variety of flora and fauna. Adventure sports like trekking and hiking, river rafting, boating and angling on the Siang river call for an exciting trip to this place. Overnight stay at Pasighat.
Day10: Pasighat to Dibrugarh (149 Kms, 3hrs and 30mins)
After breakfast we will proceed towards Dibrugarh. The “Tea City of India ”, Dibrugarh is located in the eastern part of Assam. It is situated on the banks of river Brahmaputra in upper Assam. Main attraction is mainly tea gardens along with oil and natural gas reserves. There are more than 165 tea gardens in Dibrugarh district. The foothills region of Dibrugarh is composed of lateritic soils, which is suitable for the production of tea plants. Besides, Dibrugarh city is the main educational center of upper Assam with important educational institutions like Dibrugarh University, Assam Medical College, Kanoi College, Salt Brooks Academy etc. Along the way we will visit some tea gardens. Then you will be transferred to the airport for your onward journey.
