Day 1
GUWAHATI-CHERRAPUNJEE(156kms/6hrs)
Meet & greet at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station(Within 10.00AM). Precede towards Cherrapunjee the abode of clouds. Enroute visit Umium Lake(Barapani), Thangkharang Park and Mawsmai cave, which is one of the 100 odd lime stone caves in Meghalaya. Overnight stay at Cherapunjee.
Day 2
CHERRAPUNJEE-MAWLYNNONG-CHERRAPUNJEE
Visit Mawlynong which is the cleanest village in Asia. Also visit living root bridge, largest monolith (Balancing rock). Visit Umgot Lake (DAWKI) enjoy boating on crystal clear water, Living Root Bridge, return in the evening, & overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.
Day 3
CHERRAPUNJEE-SHILLONG (56kms/2hrs)
Today we will leave for Shillong – The Scotland of the East from Cherrapunjee. It will take 3 hours to reach. Check into the pre booked Resort/Hotel. Enroute visit, , Seven Sisters falls, Nohkalikai Falls, Elephant falls, 18 hole golf course, Wards lake . Drive back to the resort. Evening is free for personal activities. Overnight stay at Shilong. (Depending on time)
Day 4
SHILLONG-BOMDILA (250m/7hrs)
After breakfast proceed towards Bomdila via Bhalukpong. Enroute visit Tippi orchid centre (Depending on new Covid norms) and Nechephufalls, Nagmandir. Enroute have lunch at Tenga valley. Check in to the pre booked Hotel. Overnight stay at Bomdila.
Day 5
BOMDILA-TAWANG (180kms/7hours)
Early morning breakfast and proceed towards Tawang. Tawang is inhabited by the Monpa people. From 500 BC to 600 AD a kingdom known as Lhomon or Monyul ruled the area. The Monyul kingdom was later absorbed into the control of neighbouring Bhutan and Tibet.
Tawang Monastery was founded by the Merak Lama Lodre Gyatso in 1681 in accordance with the wishes of the 5th Dalai Lama,NgawangLobsangGyatso, and has an interesting legend surrounding its name, which means "Chosen by Horse". The sixth Dalai Lama, Tsangyang Gyatso, was born in Tawang.Cross Sela Pass (13,700ft) highest motorable pass in Northeast, visit Paradise Lake, Jaswantgarh War Memorial, According to legend, a sepoyof the Indian Army named Jaswant Singh Rawat fought alone against the Chinese soldiers near the pass during the 1962 Sino-Indian War. Check in to the Hotel. Overnight stay at Tawang.
Day 6
TAWANG
Full day local sightseeing in & around Tawang including Tawang Monastery, also known as Garten Namgyal Lhatse .The monastery is at an elevation of about 3,300 metres (10,000 ft) in the district capital, TawangTown.It has a capacity of about 700 monks and presently is home to more than 450 lamas. It is said to be one of the biggest Buddhist monasteries in the world outside of Lhasa, Tibet.
It also houses the three-storied Parkhang library: a collection of 400-year-old Kangyur scriptures in addition to many other invaluable manuscripts. Other large collections include the sutras, Tangym, Sungbhum, old books and other manuscripts, both handwritten and printed, many of them in gold. Dances and ceremonial celebrations are held in the courtyard, the most important of which is held on the night of Vesak. It also houses a small printing press. The dukhang or "assembly hall" is a three-storied building housing the temple and the 8.3 m (27 ft) high Golden Buddha. To the left of the altar on the northern wall is a silver casket wrapped in silk containing thangkas of Palden Lhamo, the principal deity of the monastery and patroness of the Gelug school of Buddhism. It was given to Merag Lama by the 5th Dalai Lama and has come to be known as the Ja-Droi-Ma, which means it has the warmth of a bird, symbolizing that the thangkas is living. Urjelling (Birth place of 6th HH Dalai Lama), New Monastery, Ani Gompha, is the Brama dung- Chung Ani Gompa, located 12 kms from Tawang. The Nunnery was commissioned by KarchenYeshiGelek in 1595 and houses about 45 nuns. War Memorial. Craft Center (Open till 1300hrs).Evening free for personal activities. Overnight stay at Tawang.
Day 7
TAWANG
Morning at 8-00 AM approx, start for Bum La Pass which is located about 37 km away from, PTSO Lake (Pankang Teng Tso Lake) & Songetster Lake is lake was formed during the earthquake of 1950. The lake nestles between huge mountains and is clear and beautiful with what looked like a hundred bamboo poles standing straight up in the water all over the lake. These were actually ramrod straight trees without any branches or leaves on them growing in the lake-water. The entire scene is breath-taking beautiful. The air is cold and biting and even in our warm clothes we felt cold. On the way there were many big and small clear mountain lakes which were also very beautiful. The lake has bare trees standing like guards in vigil. The lake is popularly known as Madhuri Lake after her shooting a film in Arunachal Pradesh. Dinner & stay at Tawang.
Day 8
TAWANG-DIRANG (145kms/6 hours)
After breakfast proceed towards Dirang. Enroute visit Nuranang Falls at Jung. Upon arrival at Dirang, check in to the hotel. Evening visit to Dirang Monastery and Local Market. Overnight stay at Dirang.
Day 9
DIRANG-TEZPUR (220/6hrs)
After breakfast your journey starts from Dirang to Tezpur. Enroute visit Chillipam Monastery. On arrival, check into the hotel. Evening free for personal activities. Overnight stay at Hotel - Tezpur.
Day 10
TEZPUR –GUWAHATI
After breakfast proceed towards Guwahati (180kms/4 hours
In afternoon drive to airport for your onwards journey. Tour ends with sweet memories.
