Day 2
Shilong Local Sightseeing
After breakfast, proceed for Shilong local sightseeing. Shilong is also known as ‘The Scotland of the East’ is the capital city of Meghalaya. Visit Ward’s Lake located at the heart of the city which is popular for its garden walks and boating, Lady Hydari Park, Cathedral Church, and Don Bosco Museum. Return to Hotel in the evening. Have your dinner. Overnight Stay at Shilong.
Day 3
Shilong to Cherrapunjee (54 km, 2 hrs)
Today after breakfast, we will drive to Cherrapunjee, the wettest place on earth, enroute we will visit Nokalikai Falls, Mawsimai Caves, Eco Park, Arwah Caves, Wakaba Falls, Seven Sisters falls, Ramakrishna Mission, and the Thangkharang Park. In the evening check into Cherrapunjee Hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 4
Cherrapunjee to Shilong via Dawki & Mawlynnong
After breakfast, check out from Cherrapunjee hotel and drive to Mawlynnong. Today you can explore the cleanest village Mawlynnong in the world. You can take the sky walk. Spectacular view of the living Root Bridge.
After lunch, drive to Dawki. Dawki is the gateway to Bangladesh where major export and import transactions take place. It is a splendid drive of 45 kilometers passing through deep gorges and ravines, which is certainly a thrilling experience. On approaching Dawki is the Umngot River, The Umngot River is the natural boundary between Ri Pnar or Jaintia Hills with Hima Khyrim of Khasi hills over which a single span suspension bridge was constructed. In the evening, drive back to Shilong and check into Shilong hotel for an overnight Stay.
Day 5
Shilong to Guwahati via Umium Lake
Today after breakfast, proceed towards Umium Lake also known as Barapani, surrounded by coniferous forests and stretching over an area of about 221 square kilometers which is four times the size of San Marino or Bermuda. Drive down to Guwahati. Upon arrival at Guwahati, you can visit Maa Kamakshya Devi Temple, one of the famous Shakti Pithas in India (If Time permit).
